Top Ten Real Fantasy Match-ups

These are the dream real life matches that can never happen. These impossible matches cannot occur either due to the time period, geography, politics, or society. These are the dream matches, in many different areas, that I would sit in front of a TV and watch for hours. Most match-ups are of individuals, and they range from debates to physical (maybe lethal) Competition.

10. Wilt Chamberlain vs. Shaquille O'Neal
The two most dominant big men in basketball history, just bullying each other down in the low post. Now Chamberlain seems to be a better rebounder, has better shot, hell just more overall skill, but there is no more physically dominant presence than shaq. That said there is no way this can be one on one, I love them both but come on (it's not Magic vs MJ here), they get there best teams and go at each other.

9. Confucius vs. Socrates
I don't expect much drama or suspense in this one. Just too old guys babbling on about life. But by God they can babel better than anyone in history. It will be most interesting to hear there views on great crisis in our lives. Or about adolescence and puberty, to fascism and communism. And at its best we will have the great clash of the eastern and western philosophies.

8. Bret Hart vs. Kurt Angle
A lot of time pro wrestling is just a bunch big sweaty guys beating each other up in the most staged and fake looking matches. But then you get a handful of artist who know how to put on a real match, with great flow, tension, and charm. Bret "the Hitman" Hart, and Kurt Angle are the best at what they do. A 40-60 minute matchup will have every decent hold, suplex, and submission. Both men would play with crowds emotions, keep you standing in anticipation, and leave everything on the matt.

7. Adolph Hitler vs. Malcolm X
Now this is the kind of debate you need on pay-per-view. One with his tongue started World War II and one of the most detestable acts in human history. The other played such a crucial part in changing of a society in the greatest nation in the world, and defined how a race sees itself today. With there charisma and passion, although very different styles of speech, these two are the ultimate manipulators. It would be amazing to see them try to rally the same troops for opposite causes.

6. Khalid ibn al-Walid vs. Alexander the Great
Ah yes, the battle of the unbeaten. Alexander of course the more popular one, conquered one of the greatest empires in history, with great intelligence and relentless ambition. Khalid on the other hand was the crucial part in starting the second largest medieval empire, also using his great intelligence with his strong belief. Although Alexander might be the favorite, it would just be fun to see an undefeated fall.

5. Thomas Jefferson vs. Abraham Lincoln
This would be a presidential race, for third term, based on these gentelmens' current resume. Two of the greatest president going head to head. Imagine the debates, the media hype, the nasty ads. Unlike most elections this would not be the "lesser of two evils", but much rather the better of two goods. Lincoln is a former congressman, a decent lawyer, and led America through the most difficult time in its history. Jefferson is a founding father, who wrote the Declaration of Independence, was the lead in the Louisiana Purchase, and top it all of this renaissance man was quiet possibly the smartest man to ever hold office.

4. Napoleon Bonaparte vs. George Washington
Although they were both great political leaders, this is the battle of the great generals. They both showed innovation in there battling styles, and made what the modern army is today. There is not as much to be said about this, there really is no favorite, and a war between there armies would be one of the most destructive ever. It would just be amazing to see these great leaders try to match wits.

3. Mohammad Ali vs. Mike Tyson
Not every battle has to be one of equals,or the greatest. You might even argue Joe Louis, or Rocky Marciano as more of the dream match for Mohammad Ali. But this is not just about the boxing match but the whole spectacle. Mike Tyson in his prime had an aura of invincible, and everyone around seem to be vary protective of him, plus give him Cus D'Amato. This is when you unleash Ali, on Tyson, on the media, and on Don King. Now there is chance with two good punches Mike might drop Ali but I highly doubt it. The fight my last 5-8 rounds, but every second of it will be worth watching.

2. Mongol hoards vs. Roman Legion
The two most dominant military forces of all-time. They had great leaders, build great empires, yet could not be more different. It is the brutes up against the civilized, the elite versus the refomers, or the conservative fight the aggressors, all depending on your interpretation. It could be Timujin against Julius, or Kublai vs. Octavius, and many more Caesars against Khans. This is huge battle with all parties invoved from the west cost of Portugal to east coast China. Let them battle from the Sahara to Gobi, and in the Russian winter. Blood, guts, and tears glore not for this world to see, but would be site to behold any how.

1. Babe Ruth vs. Satchel Paige
Now for top of the list, is a challenge that very well could have taken place for real. But since I never heard anything about it, and it would not have much of a matchup considering the young arm and old bat, this makes the top of the list. The two most mythical figures in baseball history. It is very simple just Babe Ruth taking 4 at bats facing Paige. No real spectacle, no real strategy, just two of the most talented and entertaining players of all time going at each other. Babe might hit a homer or go 0-for-4, you know Satchel would make it worth while. And after its all done they both can have laugh about it after the game.

10______ Sabertooth-Many times just a crony to more powerful mutants. The X-men alum gets up in the list due to his one on one rivalry with with the X-men fav Wolverine. Compare to Wolverine same mutant powers (minus the adamantium claws), same attitude, only bigger and badder.



9_______ Venom-The choronogically youngest member of this list, Venom/Spiderman rivalry is similar to one given above. Venom is the badass villain that has no major agenda (most of the time) but just wants to whoop somebody prefebly spiderman.





8_______ The Kingpin-The archenemy of daredevil, he is big, he is smart, he is strong, and he is filthy rich. This is as bad a combination as you can get. He is a big enough trouble that he spans from Daredevil to Spiderman. Where he is probably is just too big either or both.




7_______ Green Goblin-Arch-enemy of spiderman, there is personal vendetta and a more global plan in this man's head. Beside just coming in with spidey and giving him personal and professional lessons puts his name on the list.

6_______ Two-Face-Those who you love hurt you the most, this time literally. Harvey Dent was Bruce Wayne's Best Pal, and few came after batman, or gave him as much trouble as Two-Face. The personal relationship, and the guilt and regret of both men probably make this the most tragic of the group.

5_______ Doctor Octopus-Green Goblin might be the "arch-enemy" of Spidey but this is the man that gives the spider fits. The relationship of student teacher is there but there is no love lost between these guys, they go at each other full strength with no regrets. Plus he is dam cool.

4________Doctor Doom-Consider to be the original supervillian (with all the superpowers and such). Just pure power, even one on four this guy was hard to manage. So hard infact that other heroes from the Marvel Universe took there shots at him with the Fantastic Four.

3_______ Magneto-The arch-enemy and sometimes partner of X-men he is first and definently the stand out of that universe. Cool power, world dominating/"saving" perceptive, and hell of an ego makes him a solid and powerful villain to mess with. He is as key to X-men as Wolverine or professor X.

2_______ Lex Luthor-The definition of an arch-enemy, egomaniac, genius, or stubborn. From mad scientist to white-collar criminal and even the presidency, Lex has kept things interesting and busy for Superman. With the powerful and invincible villains the man of steel has faced, it always comes down between him and metropolis' second son favorite son. It is impossible to see one without other.


1_______ Joker-Insanity, several homicides (including one Robin), genius evil plans, undying thirst for revenge, on top of all this he never dies, and has fun doing it. What else could you possibly ask for from a Super villain. As for Bats, it is impossible to imagine one without the other. Never two so different went together so well.

(10)_________Flash: Personnel favorite, many might put others. Love his powers, and attitude. And really liked the TV show.

(9)__________Green Lantern: One of the most famous names in comics. The 4th wheel of the justice League. Changed many different times, but just a memorable name.

(8)__________Spawn: The youngest of the group, the greatest independent superhero, Dark, strange, impacting. Love this mean son of a bitch.

(7)__________Captain America: BEST ENTRANCE EVER: right time, right cover, and great longevity. You need and American hero in every genre.

(6)__________The Hulk: Hard to quantify him as a hero (but batman is barely super so). A true monster. It is Robert Banner that is the story, and Hulk the problem, you gotta love it.

(5)__________Wonder Woman: Lone female on this list (in top twenty list I would have many more). The first true female superhero,in justice league right there with Batman, and Superman.

(4)__________Superman: The beginning of Comic Book History. Representing of it outside of the industry. The most obvious choice on the list.

(3)__________Wolverine: The perfect rebel, a standout in a team. Only one of the X-Men on the list. Is almost there representative. Great comics, solid movies, and a very good TV shows.

(2)__________Spiderman: The closest thing to real life you get in superheroes. Spiderman got cool moves, and the best villains (next to batman), but without a doubt it is Peter Parker that puts him up on this list. Nice TV show, execellent execellent comics, and the movies definently do justice.
